Stankh Invasion Update: Tickets, Line-Up and new Flyer!

To all Cosmic Warriors and Funky Followers of Ska, Reggae, Hip Hop and Funk,

Liverpool Reggae Funk Superheroes We, the Undersigned (WtU) will headline a cosmic night of music on and eye-popping technicolour spectacle on Thursday 6^th December at the O2 Academy2, Hotham Street, Liverpool.

The popular local band will deliver over an hour’s worth of space-born grooves that combine reggae, funk, rock, ska, jazz and rap – their self-styled STANKH music. Featuring three singers, rap, sizzling rhythms and riotous brass, WtU has scored a string of triumphant wins with local fans of The Skatalites, Toots & The Maytals, Dawn Penn, Youngblood Brass Band and The Apples.

The night will also serve as the launch party for WtU’s new EP release – Activation of the Groove, featuring roof-raising recordings of some of WtU’s most popular songs.

Expect to get your wiggle on at this gig – WtU will be supported by two of the city’s best and most energetic live bands: rebellious youngsters Bolshy – most commonly seen busking to the public on Church Street with their raucous ska/reggae/punk; and the turbocharged rap collective The Fire Beneath The Sea, as previously seen with WtU and now performing with their own amazing band!

Check out this WtU-Tube Video and get on the instrumental double chorus of Archetype! This cut out has been taken from couple days ago (about 28th October) and already more has been added such a bari sax and vocals will add even more energy to this!

Activation of the Groove Teaser

Forget energy drinks get a dose of Activation of the Groove! It’s home grown DIY Stankh Juice at its finest! Activation of the Groove is a 4 Track concept EP, with inbetween tracks of sounds captured through space and time travel. In the inside of the CD case you’ll find the travel stamps of where we’ve been up to.

The cosmic interludial sounds will be only available on the EP. That will hopefully arrive for the 6th December.

The Artwork is getting drawn and painted by Doc Rocket (blind folded). Using paint from the ancient time of Atlantis.

The record will be released on all digital distribution stores such as amazon, iTunes, Spotify,…via Ditto Music and Stankh Records.

We’ve just built a BandApp to apply for SoundCity 2013 (them cheeky bastards) and apparently it’s good to share this app with you! And obviously an explosion of Liverpool Bands that will have BandApp too will occur in the near future…be warned muhawhaw!

So what’s this BandApp good for…basically you find everything you find on this website (but not all of it) like music, photos, videos, show dates or basic information of who we are. In case you can’t find the words yourself when you want to tell a friend about our intergalatic funky musical adventures. POW! And everything, straight to your phone. WOOOW!!
